Dr. Zaryab Iqbal, Associate Professor of Political Science and Jewish studies at Penn State, has been appointed Associate Dean of the Schreyer Honors College. She will begin her new role on Monday, January 3, 2022. When asked to reflect on her appointment, she stated: “I am deeply honored by this opportunity to serve the Penn State community and very excited to join the Schreyer team. I view Schreyer Honors College as a truly interdisciplinary space that harnesses the strengths of all Penn State colleges and campuses to deliver exceptional academic outcomes and create future leaders. As associate dean, my priorities will include strengthening partnerships across the university, enhancing diversity and inclusion, and fostering a learning environment that empowers students to think analytically and seek innovative solutions to societal problems.”
This is Zaryab’s fourteenth year in the Department of Political Science; during this time she has served as Administrative Fellow in the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost at Penn State, as Vice-President of the International Studies Association, and as Program Director at the National Science Foundation (NSF). We wish her all the best in her new adventure.
