The Department is thrilled to welcome Tracee Saunders as one of nine new Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) cofunded faculty members. Professor Saunders’s research explores the political determinants of access to health care and social welfare resources using innovative methodological techniques, such as text analysis, network analysis, geographic information systems, and causal inference. She received her doctorate in political science and her master of science in public health informatics from the University of Iowa. Prior to coming to Penn State, she was a research fellow in the Better Government Lab at Georgetown University.
This year, Professor Saunders is teaching an undergraduate course on bureaucratic politics and a graduate seminar on U.S. state politics and policy.
