Congratulations to Cyanne Loyle on her appointment as Jeffrey L. Hyde and Sharon D. Hyde and Political Science Board of Visitors Early Career Professor of Political Science. Dr. Loyle received this recognition for her research contributions, her teaching and mentorship, and her service to the department, College, university, and discipline. Dr. Loyle’s research is motivated by a desire to better understand, and to contribute to the prevention of, violent conflict and the violation of human rights. Dr. Loyle’s research, which has been published in top journals and attracted a great deal of external funding, assesses violence, its causes, and its resolution—particularly as it pertains to justice and rule-of-law institutions.
