Zaryab Iqbal
Professional Bio
Professor Iqbal received her Ph.D in Political Science from Emory University; she received her M.A. from the University of Denver and her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her primary research and teaching interests are in international conflict and security, specifically the consequences of armed conflict and questions related to state failure, political assassinations, and human security. She is the author of War and the Health of Nations and State Failure in the Modern World (Stanford University Press). Her other work has been published in a number of journals, including the Journal of Politics, Journal of Conflict Resolution, and International Studies Quarterly. Dr. Iqbal has served as Associate Dean of the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State, as Administrative Fellow in the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost at Penn State, as Vice-President of the International Studies Association, and as Program Director at the National Science Foundation (NSF).
