Professional Bio

Zeynep Ozge Igdir earned her Ph.D. from Sabancı University in Istanbul, Turkey. Her research focuses on political institutions, institutional change (both failed and successful), electoral systems, and electoral reform. In her dissertation, she examined changes in the rules governing pre-electoral coalition formation in European democracies between 1945 and 2018, using an original dataset. She is a research assistant in the Political Science Program at Sabancı University. For the duration of Spring 2025, she is a visiting scholar in the Department of Political Science at Penn State, where she is conducting her postdoctoral research.
