Professional Bio

Yifei Zhu is a first-year graduate student in International Relations and Comparative Politics. She comes to Penn State from Shanghai Jiao Tong University where she got her master’s degree in Comparative Politics and developed her research interests, including ethnic conflicts and state-building. She focuses on post-conflict multi-ethnic state building. Recently, she is compiling data related to rebel public goods provision and natural resource endowment. In addition, she has recently begun to focus on environmental politics, particularly on how Chinese corporate investment and industrial change will affect Chinese environmental policy.
