Professional Bio

Jack joined the PhD program at the Department of Political Science in 2023. He gained his bachelor's degree in diplomacy and IR at Beijing International Studies University and his MA focusing on East Asian politics and authoritarian regimes at George Washington University. He then completed his pre-PhD program at New York University with a second MA focusing on methodologies (causal inference and formal theory) and political economy. At Penn State, his research focuses on predicting human behavior and institutional dynamics with data science (causal inference and machine learning), network analysis, and formal theory.
