Christine Semeniuk, a rising third-year Ph.D. student, won the Best Poster Award at the State Politics and Policy Conference for her poster, “Throwing the Party? National Party Influence on State Party Platforms.” The poster is based on her M.A. thesis and uses new data on state party platforms to assess the relationship between the rules states have about choosing candidates to stand for election and the similarity between state and national party platforms.
