Joseph Wright, Professor of Political Science at Penn State, has authored “The Origins of Elected Strongmen.” His interest in studying dictators and authoritarian leaders began while he was studying abroad in Chile.
Professor Wright discusses his experiences, most notably meeting the country’s former President, Augusto Pinochet (a dictator who ruled for more than a decade) at a concert while in Chile, during an appearance with Democracy Works podcast.
