Professional Bio

Yuxiang Chen is a first-year PhD student in International Relations. Prior to joining Penn State, he received his MA degree in Political Science from Duke University. His research interests include exploring how domestic political dynamics influence international relations and how international trade promotes the diffusion of norms and institutions globally. He is particularly interested in understanding how public opinion shapes foreign policy, as well as theories related to democracy and authoritarianism.
