Professional Bio

Adee Weller is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Penn State. Her research agenda focuses on understanding how armed groups, militias, and corporations shape governance. She combines archival and field research with causal inference and observational data, drawing upon evidence from Mexico, British India, Northern Ireland, Haiti, and Mozambique. Her research has been published in the British Journal of Political Science and is supported by the National Science Foundation and the Pearson Institute for Global Governance. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science at Emory University in 2026.
