Penn State Homeland Security Programs are proud to announce the continuation of their partnership with DHS ICE HSI in Spring 2022!     

Research Internships available with the Department of Homeland Security’s Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center (HRVWCC)

  • Research Internships available to any undergraduate or graduate student
  • You may take the internship for no credit or for 3 credits (via our HLS 595A course) 
  • Internships are unpaid and are conducted “virtually;” students will conduct research at their location
  • Students will gain valuable applied research experience guided by experienced Government Researchers
  • Resume builder for a career in Research and / or experience interning with a department within the Federal Government
  • Students gain valuable insights into international human rights issues and perspectives from the US Department of Homeland Security relating to these issues.
  • All Internship academic credit dependent on the partner institutions academic policies
  • Your students should provide the following:
    • Full name
    • Institution
    • Field of study (major), level (graduate or undergraduate), and expected graduation date
    • (Optional) List of related experiences with international human rights issues, if any (not a requirement) 
    • Resume
