Seth studies representation and responsiveness in American politics and society. His Master's thesis validates campaign finance-based scores as measures of citizen ideology, and employs them to show evidence of spatial voting in gubernatorial elections. He is also exploring (with Eric Plutzer) how health teachers address controversial topics in the classroom.

Seth is a graduate of Vassar College, and worked as an administrator at Earlham College and Drexel University before enrolling at Penn State.
