Professional Bio

Gloria Yuhe Mu is a first-year Ph.D. student in Political Science at Penn State. Her research broadly focuses on comparative politics, with particular interests in authoritarian politics, political institutions, political communication, and political behavior. She is interested in how authoritarian governments shape citizens’ beliefs and behavior through information control, propaganda, and censorship. Methodologically, she is interested in survey experiments, computational text analysis, and other quantitative methods.

Before joining Penn State, Gloria received an M.A. in Chinese Economic and Political Affairs from the University of California San Diego and a B.A. in Political Economy from Duke University and Duke Kunshan University.
