Professional Bio

Emiliano Nunez is a first-year PhD student in Political Science, interested in political methodology and comparative politics. He joins Penn State from Chile, where he earned a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Economics from the Universidad de Chile and subsequently served as an advisor to the Minister of Public Works for two years. His interests center on electoral systems and institutional design, an academic direction sparked during his university years by applying econometrics to questions about political institutions.

Outside of research, Emiliano is a competitive tennis player and strength training enthusiast. True to his quantitative background, he occasionally applies mathematical modeling to his leisure activities, ranging from optimizing baking recipes to building predictive models for the professional tennis tour.
