Daniel Tavana, assistant professor of political science, and Erin York, assistant professor of political science at Vanderbilt University, recently participated in interviews with two Kuwaiti newspapers about their recent British Journal of Political Science paper, “Legislative Cooptation in Authoritarian Regimes: Policy Cooperation in the Kuwait National Assembly.” The article discusses how authoritarian regimes use legislative institutions to coopt rival elites and induce policy cooperation.
