Ray Block Jr., professor of Political Science and African American Studies and the inaugural Michael D. Rich Distinguished Chair for Countering Truth Decay at RAND, has coauthored a new RAND report titled Rebalancing the Information Ecosystem and Renewing Shared Societal Commitments for Information Use. The study explores how misinformation, polarization, and declining trust in institutions threaten democracy—and highlights community-based solutions to strengthen civic engagement and rebuild shared norms of truth and trust.
