Don't miss tonight's talk on the important upcoming midterm elections by Alan Abramowitz, Alben W. Barkley Professor of Political Science at Emory University. Professor Abromowitz will speak on The Outlook for the 2006 Midterm Election: Bridging the Micro and Macro Perspectives, September 21 at 6:00 PM. Foster Auditorium, Pattee Library.
And mark your calendar for The Honorable Judge Marjorie Rendell, first lady of Pennsylvania, who will be speaking on The Importance of Civic Responsibility in a Global Community. This event is cosponsored with the Schreyer Honors College and the Dickinson School of Law. The talk is on October 3. Admission is free, but you'll need a ticket. Information on tickets is coming soon.
No, you don't have to go to law school
Professor Frank Baumgartner will be talking about graduate school opportunities other than law school for Political Science and International Politics majors. Topics include why graduate school might be a good option for you, how MPP, MPA, MA, and PhD programs differ from each other, how to pay for graduate school (or better yet, how to get paid to go to graduate school), and what graduate school admissions committees look for. Of course, there will be plenty of opportunity for question and answer.
If you are wondering, "Do I really have to go to law school?" this session is right for you: Wednesday, September 27 at 7:00 PM in 169 WILLARD
