Students in the Political Science department choose from two majors. Political Science majors develop an advanced understanding of American politics, politics of other nations, international relations, or political theory. International Politics majors choose from among three concentrations and courses in international and comparative politics, Economics, Geography, History, and the School of Information Sciences and Technology.
Many of our majors pursue summer and semester-long internships in Washington, D.C., Harrisburg Pennsylvania, and elsewhere in the government, non-profit, and business sectors. Many also study abroad, through our summer program in Maastricht, the Netherlands, or in many other countries for a semester, summer, or the whole year. Financial support for internships and study abroad is available for some through the support of our alumni in the Political Science Enrichment Program
Majors in Political Science and International Politics go onto a wide range of careers in the public, private and non-profit sectors. They are also enrolled in law and graduate schools throughout the United States.
