The political science faculty encourages Schreyer Honors College students to pursue honors in Political Science or International Politics. You can learn more about the Schreyer Honors College on their website: http://shc.psu.edu/
All honors students are assigned to a faculty honors advisor.
To write a thesis in Political Science honors students need to take PL SC 300H (Critical Reasoning in the Study of Politics) in the fall of either their sophomore or (preferably) junior year. In their senior year students take 6 credits of thesis writing split between PL SC 306H (Thesis writing workshop) and PL SC 496H.
Each spring we hold our department’s annual poster presentation of honors research, and many of our scholars present their work at the university-wide Undergraduate Research Exhibition.
If you are already at Penn State and are interested in joining the honors program you can apply directly to the Schreyer Honors College (http://shc.psu.edu/future/apply.cfm).
Please direct all questions about the honors program to the Political Science honors director, Michael Berkman (mbb1@psu.edu) or to Angela Hill (amr25@psu.edu) in the undergraduate office.
