Undergraduate Briana Blackwell is the Young, Gifted and Black award recipient

Political Science Undergraduate Briana Blackwell received the Young, Gifted and Black award, which highlights Black Pittsburgh residents ages 21-42 "for their outstanding service to the community and their places of work". The proclamation signed by Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald also says "Each year, the honorees represent a large variety of life experiences and professions, including athletic trainers, business and nonprofit leaders, chefs, educators, musicians, and social workers."   Briana was this year's youngest awardee and only undergraduate student.   Briana is graduating this spring and will work with Teach for America next year.
