Ph.D., West Virginia University, 2004; J.D., West Virginia University, 1993. Specializes in judicial politics and public law. Current research interest is isolating and modeling the "Dworkin effect" upon Supreme Court decision making. Current works include: (1) re-estimating the impact of political ideology upon Supreme Court judging using a bivariate statistical model that, unlike prior works, avoids ecological inference; (2) estimating the impact of political ideology on the Court over time; and (3) modeling the effect that legal language has upon judicial choice. | |
