Professor Coleman got a Ph.D. at the University of Chicago in 1993; He is an Assistant Professor of African and African American Studies, Political Science, and Labor and Industrial Studies. Professor Coleman, who also holds a J.D. degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, has research interests in minority employment and firm performance, the impact of competitive processes on racial equality, law and economics, and affirmative action policy. Came to Penn State in 2001 from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Department of Economics, where he was a postdoctoral scholar. He was also formerly a postdoctoral fellow in politics, race and law at Stanford University. | |
